1993 EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EXERCISE The purpose of this letter is to confirm that the 1993 Emergency Preparedness -
Exercise for Cooper Nuclear Station has been rescheduled from August 17 to December 12, 1993.
On July 20, 1993, telephone discussions were held between members of our respective staffs and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA),
Region VII.
Similar discussions were held between FEMA, Region VII, and representatives of the states of Nebraska and Missouri.
The subjects of these discussions were requests dated July 14, 1993, from the state of Nebraska and July 15, 1993, from the state of Missouri both seeking a rescheduling of the August 17, 1993 Cooper Nuclear Station full participation emergency exercise.
The rescheduling requests were made because of the ongoing severe storm and flooding disaster which has significantly affected the response agencies of both states.
As a result of these discussions, all parties concerned have agreed to reschedule the date of the Cooper Nuclear Station 1993 exercise to the week of December 12, 1993.
