An announced safety inspection of the reactor operations program was conducted by
)
Mr. Thomas Dragoun, accompanied by Dr. Susan Shankman, of this office on June 30-July 2,
1993. of activities authorized by NRC License No. TR-5. A discussion of our findings was held
by Mr. Dragoun with you and a member of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection included maintenance and repair of reactor systems,
recordkeeping, fuel movement, surveillances, operator requalification training, and control of
experiments. Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures
and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this review, no safety concerns or violations of NRC requirements were
observed. Your preventive maintenance program was found to be innovative. No reply to this
letter is required.
