Supplement to Request for NRC Approval Pursuant to 10CFR50.54(a)(3), dated July 9, 1993 (Serial Number 2157)
Gentlemen:
On July 9, 1993, the Toledo Edison Company submitted a request for approval of two proposed Quality Assurance Program reductions of commitment, pursuant to 10CFR50.54(a)(3) (Serial Number 2157). These reductions are a result of proposed organization changes. The July 9, 1993 submittal requested approval of the proposed reductions by July 19, 1993.
Since submittal of the request, several conference telephone calls have been held between the NRC staff and Toledo Edison representatives to discuss the details of the reorganization.
In order to facilitate an orderly reorganization in a timeframe consistent with the rest of Centerior Energy while these discussions continue, Toledo Edison vill implement an interim organization which does not result in any Ouality Assurance Program reductions. Accordingly, as discussed with the NRC staff, Toledo Edison requests that review of the July 9, 1993 submittal continue, however, approval by July 19, 1993 is no longer required.
As stated above, Toledo Edison has reviewed the proposed interim organization and determined that it does not involve any reduction in the Quality Assurance Program. Therefore, the interim organization vill be implemented in accordance with the provisions of 10CFR50.54 and 10CFR50.59.
