June 1993 ' Limerick Generating St'ation - Unit 1 June 1 through June 30, 1993 I. Narrative Sunaary of Operating Experiences Unit 1 began this operating period at 100% of rated thermal i power.(RTP). On June 14, 1993 at 1430 hours power was reduced to 92% RTP for Main Turbine Valve Testing. Power was restored to.100% shortly thereafter. On June 19, 1993 at 0533 hours power was reduced to 80%.RTP to perform maintenance work on the 'A' condensate pump. In. addition, the control rod exercise testing was performed. On June 21, 1993 at 0524 hours power was restored to 100% RTP.

  • On June 22, 1993 at 1220 hours power was reduced to 95% RTP for a control rod pattern adjustment and then restored'to 100% RTP.

On June 24, 1993 between 1200 and 1400 hours' power was reduced to 97% RTP to perform a special test; EHC Pressure. Control System Stability Test for Power Rerate Capability j Determination. l Unit 1 ended this operating period at 100% of rated thermal power. II. Challenges to Main Steam Safety Relief Valves There were no challenges.to the Main Steam Safety: Relief Valves during the month of June.

Narrative Summary of Operating Experiences Unit 2 began this operating period at 100% of rated thermal power (RTP). On June 13, 1993 at 1417 hours power was reduced to 98% RTP for RTP. control rod exercise testing and then restored to'100%

  • On June 20, 1993 at 1228 hours power was reduced to 98% RTP for control rod exercise testing and then restored to 100%

RTP. On June 26, 1993 at 0400 hours power was reduced to 80% RTP to, perform maintenance work on the 'A' condensate pump. In addition control rod SCRAM time and turbine valve testing was performed during this power reduction. Power was restored to 100% RTP at 2003 hours. On June,28, 1993 at 0925 hours power was reduced to 80% RTP to perform maintenance work on the 'A' condensate pump. Power was restored to 100% RTP at 2114 hours. ' On June 29, 1993 at 0103 hours power was reduced to 80% RTP to perform additional maintenance on the 'A' condensate pumpi Power was restored to 100% RTP at 1945 hours. Unit 2' ended this operating period at 100% of rated thermal power. II. Challenges to Main Steam Safety Relief Valves

  • There were no challenges to the Main Steam Safety Relief Valves during the month of June.
