This proceeding concerns the proposed extensions of the operating licenses for the Diablo Canyon Nuclear Power Plant, Units 1 and 2, to recover or recapture the period of construction of the reactors.
Notice is hereby given that, consistent with Pacific Gas and Electric Company's (PG&E's)
Motion for Schedule Change, dated June 21, 1993, the evidentiary hearing in this proceeding will commence on Tuesday, August 17, 1993, at the Community Room, San Luis Obispo City-County Library, 995 Palm St.,

The hearing will commence immediately following a prehearing conference pursuant to 10 C.F.R.

S 2.743 (b) (2)), steps to expedite the presentation of evidence, and such other matters as may aid in the orderly disposition of the proceeding.

-3 Notice is also hereby given that, in accordance with 10 C.F.R.
S 2.715(a), the Licensing Board will hear oral limited appearance statements on Wednesday, August 18, 1993, from 7:00 p.m.
to 10:00 p.m. (or such lester time as is necessary to accommodate speakers who are present).
Such statements will be heard at the Main Hall, Veterans Building, 801 Grand Avenue, San Luis Obispo, California 93401.
Any person not a party to the proceeding will be permitted to make such a statement, setting forth his or her position on the issues.
The number of persons making oral statements and the time allotted for each statement may be limited depending on the number of persons present at the designated time.
(Normally, each oral statement may extend for up to five (5) minutes.)
