CONFlRMATION OF NRC INSPECTION AT LIMITORQUE CORPORATION This letter confirms the upcoming U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection on May 10 through 16, 1993, as discussed between you and Mr.
The entrance meeting for this inspection will be at 1:00 pm on May 10. The inspection team will consist of the team leader Mr. Jeffrey Jacobson of the Special Inspection Branch, Mr. Thomas Scarbrough of the Mechanical Engineering Branch,. and Messrs. Larry Campbell and David Brewer of the Vendor Inspection Branch.
The inspection team will review selected portions of your 10CFR50, Appendix B, quality assurance program for the procuremcat, manufacturing and supply of nuclear safety related components. A review will also be conducted of your-10CFR Part 21 program.
In addition to the above general reviews, please be prepared to discuss the following specific technical issues:
The basis for assumptions made in the standard Limitorque sizing l
l equation including motor torque output (accuracy of motor curves, high temperature effects, power factor, reduced voltage performance, etc.),
I gear efficiencies, and application factors.
The basis for Limitorque spring pack curves and their associated accuracy.
L Limitorque's current position with regard to thrust ratings and the Kalsi report on overthrusting.
