ESTIMATED SCHEDULE /DATE FOR REVIEW 0F COLORADO PRE-LICENSING STATEMENT FOR HECLA DURITA SITE (TICKET L-088)
I am responding to your request for Low-level Waste Management and Decommissioning (LLWM) review of the State of Colorado Preliminary Licensing Statement and Proposed License for the Hecla Durita uranium mill tailings site.
It is my intent that the LLWM staff perform a fatal flaw review of Colorado's Licensing Statement. The purpose of the review will be to determine whether all significant technical requirements consistent with 10 CFR Part 40, Appendix A have been considered in the State's licensing action.
Given the general nature of our review, there should not be a significant impact on staff resources, however, we must schedule it around other higher priority work. Therefore, we propose to provide the Office of State Programs with the results of our review by August 16, 1993.
