Dear Mr. MacDonald:
Chem-Nuclear Systems, Inc. (CNSI) respectfully submits our consolidated application for renewal of the Certificate of Compliance (Reference 1) for the Model No. CNS 14-170 Series III shipping package, as requested in Reference 2. This submittal completes the process initiated by Reference 3, which requested that CNSI acquire a unique Certificate of Compliance for the I
CIIS14-170 Series III package.
The' consolidated application submitted by CNSI consists of a consolidated Safety Analysis 1
Report (SAR) conditioned for the CNS 14-170 Series III package. This SAR is based on Revision 9 of the SAR for the HN-100 Series 3 radwaste shipping package, on which the design of the CNS 14-170 Series III is based. The drawings, operating procedures, acceptance tests, l
and maintenance program are the same as those referenced in the current Certifcate of C
Compliance, with the exception of a change to the drawings made to reflect the new certificate number.
