This refers to the safety inspection conducted by Messrs. A. N. Ray and R. A. McBrearty of

Areas examined during Wis inspection are described in the NRC Region I inspection report
which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas the inspection consisted of selective

examinations of procedures and representative records, interviews with personnel and.
observations by the inspector. The inspection focused on the inservice inspection program
and the steam generator tube eddy current inspection program and _their implementation at
Haddim Neck. Program implementation inspections are used to determine that programs

you have in place to detect inservice degradation confirm the plant's acceptability for

continued safe operation and satisfy your commitments and regulatory requirements. .We .
found your program implementation satisfactory, and no violations were observed.
