Dear Mr. Devgun:
I am pleased to accept your invitation to present a lecture on Radioactive Waste Management Legislation and Regulations (U.S.) at the next IAEA Interregional Training Course on Management of Radioactive Waste from Nuclear Power Plants.
The course is scheduled during the period August 23 -
September 27, 1993. My lecture is scheduled for the afternoon of August 24, 1993, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
As requested in your letter of June 21, 1993, and as discussed with R. Bangart and W. Brach, I will provide background r;terials and information on U.S.
legislation and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's Part 61 low-level radioactive waste regulation for use by course participants.
As discussed with R. Bangart and W. Brach, I do not plan to prepare separate " notes" for the course.
The background materials I will provide to you, together with viewgraphs prepared for the lecture, should provide course participants with useable and understandable material which they can use for future reference.
