Dear Mr. Selin:
I am writing to express my concern for the inhabitants of Forect Grove, LA and Center Springs, LA. Plans to build a uranium enrichment facility near their communities seem most unfair when the residents are so opposed to its construction.
I know how these residenta feel. I used to live in a neighbourhood in Toronto where the soil was so toxic, the children in that neighbourhood had the highest blood lead levels in Canada. Eventually, the provincial government had to pay for the removal of both the soil and the deep cleaning of the walls and furnaces of the houses in a wide area. I strongly suggest that your commission deny Louisiana nnergy Services permission to build a uranium enrichment facility in Homer, LA, both for the protection of the people in that area and to avoid the possibility of future expenses in the area of clean-up.
