U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Page 2 June 11, 1993 TVA is extending the completion of these three commitments to be before restart of Unit 2 f rom the present forced outage currently scheduled for July 23, 1993. These activities were to be completed by June 15, 1993.

The Unit 2 forced outage restart is scheduled before the Unit I refueling outage restart.

This extension is needed because resources were dedicated to restart activities for the two-unit outage and because emergent SBO-related issues needed to be addressed. These intermediate activities will be completed within tne period established for SB0 rule implementation (Unit 1 Cycle 7 refueling outage) and will not affect final completion of SB0 rule compliance. No other SB0 rule commitments are affected by this extension.

Please direct questions concerning this issue to K. C. Weller at (615) 843-7527.

Sincerely,

[
