Dear Mr. Selan:

I am writino to you about the permit to Louisiana Eneroy Services--the permit that will allow a uranium enrichment f acili-l tv to be built near the Forest Grove and Center Springs communi-ties.

Like the people there who have formed the group Citizens t

Against Nuclear Trash, I hope you will deny the permit to LES.

Accepting that the plant will produce almost four thousand t.ons of hazardous waste (uranium-238) a year would be enough, personally, to oppose the permit.

Another point to consider is the citizens af Forest Grove and Center Spring.

The area is pr edomina te ly black and has a weak economy already.

Supplyino the permit would not only show obvious environmen tal d iscr imin a-tion, but could quite possibly destroy the feeble economy.

The people in the communities ao not want or likely need a uranium enrichment plant.

So please. as Chairman of the Nuclear Requiatory Commission, deny the permit to the Louisiana Regulato-ry Services, P
