EXAMINATION OF EXTERNAL ENENTS (IPEEE)

This is to advise you that the Commission has not objected to the staff acceptance of the licensee's proposed IPEEE submittal schedules which extend the completion date for the IPEEE process from June of 1995 to July 1997.

The Commission requests a staff paper outlining the major achievements obtained from the IPE/IPEEE programs and any i

insights or conclusions staff is able to reach on the broad perspective of benchmarking the public risk associated with the operation of existing nuclear power plants (and thus the adequacy of the NRC's regulations) with the Commission's Safety Goals Policy.
