Dear Sirs:
Resoonse to Bulletin 93-02 Portland General Electric Company (PGE) has permanently ceased power operation of the Trojan Nuclear. Plant (TNP). PGE provided certification to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) on February 2, 1993 that the reactor fuel was permanently off-loaded from the reactor vessel and placed in the spent fuel pool. The NRC issued Amendment 190 on May 5, 1993 which modified the Trojan Operating License to a i
possession only license.
Due to the plant condition described above, a loss-of-coolant accident (LOCA) is no longer possible at the TNP and consequently the Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS) is no longer necessary.
Therefore, PGE will not be taking action relative to NRC Bulletin 93-02.
