Dear Administrative Judges:

The Licensing Board has generally indicated that it wishes to be informed of the NRC Office of Investigations' actions in investigating Mr. Mosbaugh's allegations and how that investigation might affect the scheduling of this proceeding.

The NRC Office of Investigations has served subpoenas on officers and employees of Georgia Power Co.,

which are indicated on the attached list.

The Office of Investigations is attempting to complete its subpoenaed interviews of those persons before any recordings, abstracts of recordings, or transcriptions of recordings are made available in this proceeding, as it believes release of this material will prejudice the investigation.

I have been informed by the Office of Investigations that they will now proceed with their investigation as rapidly as possible, so as not to unduly delay this proceeding.

This letter was prepared before receipt of the Board's Memorandum and Order of June 1, 1993, and is not meant to be in response to that order.
