SUBJECT:
REQUEST FOR HEARING AND PRITION FOR LEAVE TO INTERVENE SUBMITTED BY THE ATTORNEY GENERAL OF MASSACHUSETTS Attached is a petition to intervene dated May 27, 1993 and submitted by the Massachusetts Attorney General. The petition was filed in response to a notice of consideration of a proposed amendment to the operating license of the Boston Edison Company for the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (Docket No. S0-293). The proposed amendment would allow an increase in the number of fuel assembly storage cells in the spent fuel pool, change the capacity of loads that travel over the spent assemblies in the pool and change the limiting characteristics of stored assemblies.
A Notice of the proposed amendment was published in the Federal Recister at 58 Fed.
Reg. 26171 (April 30, 1993) (copy attached).
The petition to intervene and related documents are being referred to you for appropriate action in accordance with 10 C.F.R.
