STAFF REQUIREMENTS - BRIEliING ON STATUS OF ACTION PLAN FOR FUEL CYCLIl FACILITIES (SECY-93-128), 9:00 A.M., TUESDAY, MAY 18, 1993, COMMISSIONERS' CONFERENCE ROOM, ONE WHITE FLINT NORTH, ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)

The Commission was briefed by the NRC staff on the status of the action plan for fuel cycle facilities.

The Commission praised the integrated approach to regulatory development and licensing for fuel cycle facilities presented by the staff in SECY-93-128 and re-emphasized the critical importance of establishing a firm regulatory basis for license renewal reviews and inspections.

The Commission requested further information on whether NMSS is granting exemptions for criticality monitors in fuel cycle facilities.
