Dear Sir:
Amendment 17 to the Post-Defueling Monitored Stomge (PDMS) Safety Analysis Report (SAR) is hereby submitted as Enclosure 1. This amendment includes a final residual fuel value for the TMI-2 Reactor Vessel (RV), a discussion of the RV criticality analyses, the results of revised accident dose calculations, revised general area dose rates and contamination values for the Reactor Building, inclusion of the forthcoming electrical power distribution modification, and other corrections to PDMS operable system descriptions. Also included are minor corrections l
and clarifications. Revisions to the main SAR text are submitted as page changes.
f The NRC letter, " List of PDMS Requirements and Commitmems," dated May 19, 1993, accepted the proposed list of PDMS Requirements and Commitments that were transmitted by GPU Nuclear letter C312-92-2089, dated January 15, 1993. Amendment 17 necessitates a revision to a few of these requirements and commitments. In accordance with Item M.,
" Procedures for Changing the Above Requirements and Commitments," Enclosure 2 provides a revision to the agreed-upon list with changes indicated by a vertical line in the margin; l provides a discussion and a safety evaluation of each change.
