PECO/NRC MEETING ON MAY 17,1993, TO DISCUSS LIMERICK REQUALIFICATION EXAMINATIONS On May 17,1993, representatives from the Philadelphia Electric Company (PECo) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) met in the Region 1 office to discuss availability of licensed operators for an NRC requalification examination and program evaluation in the fall of 1993. Attendance at the meeting is contained in the attachment. Based on the discussions, all operators whose license expires in the near term have had NRC-administered
[
requalification examinations. There is no need to conduct NRC requalification examinations in the fall of 1993 for operator license renewal. The NRC Region 1 staff has concluded that the most effective use of our resources to judge the adequacy of the Limerick requalification training program is to perform an inspection of the facility administered requalification examinations in lieu of administering NRC requalification examinations.
