FEMA REPORT ON OFFSITE AGENCIES' PERFORMANCES DURING THE DECEMBER 1992 EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EXERCISE AND THE FEBRUARY 1993 REMEDIAL DEMONSTRATION NRC Region III has received the enclosed Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) report dated May 21, 1993, regarding the performances of State and local organizations during the emergency preparedness exercise conducted on December 15, 1992. The FEMA report indicates that corrective-actions on both performance deficiencies identified during that exercise were successfully demonstrated during a remedial exercise conducted on February 18, 1993.
You are requested to interact with offsite officials to resolve'the other concerns identified by FEMA during the December 1992 exercise.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosure will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room.
