Change to Proposed Revision to Technical Specification Section 3.3.3.7 - Chlorine Detection System I
i Centlemen:
l In the reference, Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation (WCNOC) submitted reposed technical specification changes to support a
future plant
.uodification t o remove the one-ton chlorine storage containers fro.n the site.
The proposed changes involved the deletion of Technical Specification Section 3.3.3.7, Chlorine Detection Systems, and the associated Bases.
However, an additional technical specification section was inadvertently excluded from this proposed change.
5 The Attachment to this letter provides for the deletion of Surveillance Requirement 4.7.6e.5).
This surveillance requires the Control Room Emergency Ventilation System be demonstrated operable by verifying on a high chlorine test signal the system automatically switches into a recirculation mode of operation.
With the removal of the one-ton chlorine storage containers, the chlorine detectors will not be maintained operable.
Therefore, the surveillance requirement is no longer applicable. This additional change does not affect the basis for the safety evaluation, no significant hazards consideration determination, or environmental impact determination provided in the Reference.
In accordance with 10 CFR 50.91, a copy of this submittal is being provided to j
the designated Kansas State Official.
