SUMMARY
The purpose of the. meeting was to discuss the possible repowering of LACBWR with natural gas.
If repowering of LACBWR. occurs,.
plant restart would be in 1997. Currently, the licensee is considering the.
i possibility of repowering the secondary side of the plant.
This project would include a 150 MWe gas turbine. Along with this option, the licensee D:

2 is also considering the possibility of co-firing with natural gas the fossil unit on the site. The possible repowering of these units was the reason for the i
discussion with the NRC concerning natural gas on site. The licensee's presentation (enclosed)providesdiagramsshowingtheproposedlocationofthe natural gas pipeline, and th6sr approach to analyzing the potential blast effects on the reactor building due to a natural gas pipeline failure.
