[External_Sender] Holtec Decommissioning of Indian Point Date:

Thursday, February 13, 2020 2:46:58 PM Dear Sirs and Madams I would like to express my grave concerns about the plan to allow Holtec to decommission Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant, in New York. When I visited the Federal Rulemaking Website and searched for Docket ID 2020-0021 I received an automatic message that such a docket did not exist.

I live less than 10 miles from the plant, and while I am relieved the plant is closing, to say that I am alarmed that Holtec is overseeing the plant decommissioning would be a vast understatement.

I attended a public meeting addressing the decommissioning and was shocked at the cavalier attitude of the Holtec representatives and damning testimony describing the ineptitude, inexperience and outright corruption as well as the crass and transparent eagerness to decommission as quickly as possible to maximize profits without any evident concern for the safety of residents.

I strongly request the NRC in their capacity as protectors of the public undertake a thorough review of Holtec's decommissioning plan and deny their application for the transfer of ownership of Indian Point I am also requesting that the NRC hold a public meeting to answer some disturbing technical, fiscal and ethical questions about Holtec and their decommissioning plan.

It is irresponsible to entrust Holtec, an organization that has up until recently, never decommissioned a nuclear power plant, is ill-equipped to do so, who lacks the expertise or initiative and has demonstrated a callous disregard for safety, be given the daunting task of decommissioning.

Indian Point rest on two geological fault lines, is located within 110 feet of a gas pipeline and within 50 miles of New York City. To leave the responsibility of decommissioning is the height of folly.
