LIST OF PDMS REQUIREMENTS AND COMMITMENTS (TAC M85665)
In a letter dated January 15, 1993, you submitted to the NRC staff a proposed list of Post Defueling Monitored Storage (PDMS) Requirements and Commitments for the Three Mile Island Nuclear Station, Unit 2 (TMI-2). This list was developed by the NRC staff and the licensee during a series of meetings at the THI-2 site during the fall of 1992.
The staff has completed its review of the proposed list and has found it acceptable. The staff will monitor your progress in satisfying the requirements and commitments contained in the January 15, 1993 submittal.
Both Headquarters and Region I will be working with your staff to verify completion of the various items.
As stated in your January 15, 1993 letter, requests for deviations to the approved list of requirements and commitments must be made in writing, providing a description of the old requirement or commitment and a description of the proposed change. The deviation request must include a safety analysis evaluating the proposed change.
The NRC staff will respond in writing, normally within 60 days of your proposed change indicating approval or disapproval. Approved changes should be reflected in your PDMS Safety Analysis Report.
