Dear Michele:
Everyone at the NRC was saddened by the news of your husband's death late last week.
On behalf of my Commission colleagues and the entire NRC staff, I am writing to express our deepest sympathy.
Under these circumstances, we very much appreciated your willingness to attend NRC's Annual Awards Ceremony on Monday afternoon.
As I am sure you could sense from the audience's reaction to your acceptance of Ed's Award, his absence is deeply felt throughout the agency, and your strong support during his long illness is greatly admired.
I know how difficult the last few months must have been for you, and I expect that the coming weeks may be even more so. ' We at the NRC want you to know that our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family and, as Mr. Taylor noted at the Awards ceremony, that you are indeed part of the NRC family.
