Dear Mr. Selin i
I am writing to you concerning the Louisiana Energy Senices (LES) application for permission to build its uranium enrichment plant near the predominantly black, rural communitics of Forest Grove and Center Springs.
l I am urging you, Mr. Selin, to advise the NRC licensing board to deny LES' application to construct this i
facility in Homer, Louisiana. Please keep in mind that the local communities are adair.antly opposed to -

having the LES plant located in their backyard. This uranium enrichment plant is not only grossly unsafe but is totally unnecessary, considering that there is already a worldwide overcapacity for producing 7
enriched uranium.

Finally, I would encourage you to take a close look at the issue of emironmental racism and the role that it might have played in deciding to site the plant so near to the two small black communitics.
