Dear Ivan Selin:

1 understand that you are in a position to make a decision regarding the establishment of an uranium enrichment plant by Louisiana Energy Services near the communities of Forest Grove and. Center Springs, Louisiana. I am writing this letter to urge you to deny LES's application for their Homer, Louisiana site.

i Please be reminded that the local communities are adamantly opposed to the i

location of the plant; that the choice of this location stinks of environmental racism; and that the negative impacts to the social and environmental fabrics of these communities is unacceptable.

With the DOE's enrichment plants operating at only 507. of capacity, and the proposed new technologies which would reduce threats of weapons proliferation, we do not need private companies producing and marketing enriched uranium.

Please deny Louisiana Energy Services' Homer Louisiana application.
