Dear Mr. Selin:
I am a 19 year cid college student and am deeply concerned about LES' plans to build a uranium enrichment facility near the two black communities of Forest Grove and Center Springs.
i i desperately urge you to advise the NRC licensing board to deny LES' application to construct this facility in Homer, Louisiana.
The local communities are adamantly opposed to having the LES plant in their backyards.
Many of the residents are deeply concerned about the i
effect the 4,000 tons of hazardous waste each year will have on their health.
l I encourage you to take a close look at the issue of environmental 4
racism and the role it may have played in deciding to site this plant so near these two small black communities.
Talk to the people of these communities and find out how they feel about having a uranium enrichment plant so near their homes and schools.
Even better, put yourself in their shoes.
