Dear Mr Selin; It has been brought to my attention that Louisiana Energy Services has submitted an application to the NRC for permission to build a uranium enrichment plant near the communities of Forest Grove and Center Springs.
Is there really a need for this facility?
The Department of Energy's enrichment plants are only operating at 50%
l of capacity and there is already a worldwide overcapacity for producing enriched uranium.
In addition I have read that the projected cost for LES' enriched uranium is higher than for the DOE's.
