Dear Mr. Selin:
I am health professional practicing in Tennessee concerned about the proposed plant to be built near the communities of Forest Grove and Center Springs, Louisiana.
These communities are adamantly opposed to having this plant located in their backyard.
We need to re-examine the issue of environmental racism and the role that this may have played in deciding to place the plant so near these two, small, poor, black communities.
The enrichment process that is proposed to take place at this plant will produce approximately 4000 tons of radioactive Uranium-238 waste annually.
This will obviously have negative social environmental impact on the area.
Myself and many of my colleagues would appreciate your swift reply to these issues.
