Dear Mr. Selin; I am writing to express my concern and anger over the proposed uranium enrichment facility in Homer, Louisiana.

There are several reasons for my opposition and I believe you are in the position to stop this senseless project.

In the name of humanity, I urge you advise the NRC licensing board to deny Louisiana Energy Services's (LES) application to construct this facility.

In an world that is full of environmental

problems, another uranium enrichment plant is not needed.

Currently, the Department of Energy's enrichment plants are running at only 50% capacity, due to the worldwide overcapacity for producing enriched uranium.

Furthermore, the centrifuges that LES is planning to use can be used to produce enriched uranium for nuclear

weapons, something else the world is in no need of.

The i

contamination that would result f rom this plant is also unneeded, especially in the area of Lake claiborne where people rely on wells for drinking water and elderly people are concerned about evacuation plans in the event of an accidental discharge.

Just in case the above reasons aren't enough to convince you, I'll remind you that the local communities of Forest Grove and Center Springs are adamantly opposed to this LES plant.

The issue of environmental racism is at work here since these communities are low-income and predominantly black.

please take a look at LES's decision to place the plant near these communities.

I hope I've convinced you of the importance of this matter.

This plant is not needed, in Homer, Louisiana or anywhere else.
