Dear Mr. Selin:
I am urging you to advise the NRC licensing board to deny Louisiana Energy Services application to construct a uranium enrichment facility in Homer, Louisiana. Why do we need another uranium enrichmentplant when the current plants are only operating at 50% capacity and there is already a worldwide overcapacity for producing enriched uranium? Shouldn 't we be concentrating on clean, renewable resources and conservation e(forts while fazing out the toxic waste creating nuclearpower? ~ l The localcommunities of Forest Grove and Center Springs are adamantly opposed to having the LES plant in their backyard because of the negative social and t environmentalimpacts the plant will have on their area. Also, please take a close look at the issue of environmentalracism and the role it might have played in deciding to site the plant so near to the two small black communities. Sincerely, h (A4.
