Dear Mr. Selin:
Hello,.my name is Heather-Griffith and I am writing to-you today about the construction of the first privately owned U.S. uranium enrichment
.nlant in rural Louisiana.
The cartnities of Forest Grove -and Center-Snrings are onposed to. having the Lodsiana Energy Services plant in their backyards.
Lake Claiborne, which surrounds a retirement community, will be contaminated with the polluting water from the plant.
Forty
- 1 homes within a five mile radius of the plant denend. on wells for drinking' water.
Please take a close look at the issue of environmental racism and the role it may have nlayed in deciding to site the-plant near to two small-black. communities.
Statistics show that most toxic waste sites, incinerators, and hazardous chemical and industrial operations are near noor minority communities.
I urge you to advise the NRC to deny LES' application to build.a uranium enrichment facility in Homer, Louisiana.
i 1 hank you for your time and nicase let me know of any actions taken on this issue.
Sincerely, Af
,h Heather Griffit f
