CORRESPONDENCE TO BE FORWARDED TO PDR During a Congressional briefing on April 21, 1993, the Union of Concerned Scientists identified a letter to NUMARC which I signed which was not placed in the Public Document Room (PDR).
I stated that an information notice had been issued and other documentation related to the specific technical area had been placed in the PDR.
I also stated the letter to NUMARC should have been in the PDR and that it was an administrative error if it was not.
Please remind your staffs that all ADT-initiated correspondence to the public (NUMARC, Owners Groups, etc.) signed by Branch Chiefs and above in NRR should include the PDR on distribution. Documents related to allegations or ongoing investigations should not be placed in the PDR. The copy to PDR should be so annotated, and sent to Central Files, which will then forward it to PDR.
I would like each Division Director to review files for the past 12 months for correspondence to see if any should be placed in the PDR.
