Commonwealth Edison Company Honeywell Smart Transmitters 10 CFR Part 21 - Close-out Report

Reference:

(a) T. Schuster letter to T. Murley, dated March 10,1993.

Dear Dr. Murley:

The purpose of this letter is to provide the final results of Commonwealth Edison Company's (CECO) review concerning the applicability of 10 CFR Part 21 for lioneywell Smart Transmitters at Dresden Station. The interim report (Reference (a)) addressed initial concerns by CECO regarding Model STD 130 differential pressure transmitters manufactured by lioneywell.

CECO has determined that the Honeywell Sman Transmitter calibration drift discussed in Reference (a) does not represent a significant hazard and is not reportable under 10 CFR Part 21. The CECO evaluation focused on the effects of the calibration drift on the current transient analyses, ASME overpressurization, and LOCA analyses for Dresden Station. The effect of the calibration drift is negligible and is bounded by the current margins and uncertainties associated within the aforementioned analyses for Dresden Station.
