SUPPLEMENT TO THE DESIGN CERTIFICATION APPLICATION OF THE SIMPLIFIED BOILING WATER REACTOR (SBWR)
We have received your letters (MFN Nos. 031-93 and 032-93) dated February 25, 1993, supplementing the design certification application of the SBWR.
Dua to the staff's work load and competing prioritics it will take more than the customary 30 days to complete the review of the supplement to your application once we begin.
We will notify you of the results of the review after we have completed it.
If the review indicates that the application materials are sufficient, the staff will proceed to establish a review schedule and begin formal review of the application.
In the ir,terim, we urge you to continue work to address the round zero requests for additional information we for-warded to you on January 28, 1993.
In a related matter, we note that this amendment to your application was not submitted under oath or affirmation as required by 10 CFR 52.45(d), nor was the original application dated August 27, 1992.
Please prepare and transmit the necessary documentation to correct this.
In the future, supplements or amendments to your application must be submitted under oath or affirmation in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 52.45(d) or they will not be accepted by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission Document Control Desk.
