Dear Mr. Taylor:
Use'of Tro4an Comeonents for Research and Develooment Portland General Electric Company (PGE) has ceased operation of the' Trojan Nuclear Plant and has permanently defueled the reactor vessel. ' As we discussed.on the telephone, there may be opportunities for research on aging and other matters using Trojan components.- Specifically, we understand members of the staff are interested in using.the Trojan steam generators for tube degradation research and-failure testing, and using certain electrical cables for environmental qualification aging research.
There may also be interest using the Trojan reactor vessel head for penetration cracking testing as well.
We are interested in discussing.the full range of opportunities pertaining to using Trojan's equipment for research'and development efforts with.you 170079
