Waterford 3 SES Docket No. 50-382 License No. NPF-38 Technical Specification Change Request NPF-38-124, Supplemental Information i
Gentlemen:
By letter dated April 24, 1992 Waterford 3 proposed a change to Technical Specification (TS) section 6.0 " Administrative Controls" concerning the crack surveillance associated with the Basemat Monitoring Program. The subject change updated TS 6.8.4.e(4) by deleting reference to the wall crack surveillance portion of the program which had been discc: !inued. The change was necessary in order to update the Technical Specification to reflect the program requirements as accepted and described in the NRC's Safety and Technical Evaluation Reports / letter dated October 27, 1987. The NRC approved program requires crack width measurements on fifteen instrumented cracks. As such Waterford 3 requests that the word " mapping" in TS 6.8.4.e(4) be replaced with the word " monitoring" to better describe the surveillance activity. This request has no impact on the previous no significant hazards determination and is provided as a editorial change to our April 24, 1992 submittal.
