March 23,1990 letter from M.H. Richter to USNRC Reference (a) arovided guidance related to the resolution of Unresolved Safety Issue A-47, " Safety mplication of Control Systems in LWR Nuclear Power Plants". The Commonwealth Edison Company (CECO) response to Reference (a) was transmitted to NRC via Reference (b). Reference (b) included a commitment to add the steam generator overfill protection system to the Zion Units 1 and 2 Technical Specifications as part of the Technical Specification Upgrade Program. The Reference (b) response indicated that the submittal was expected to be made by the end of the first quarter of 1992. Since that time, the Technical Specification Upgrade Program has been delayed and, upon further review, CECO has decided to submit a separate "line-item" Technical i
Specification amendment request to the address the overfill protection system. CECO expects to submit this amendment request for NRC review and approval by April 30,1993.
