CHEC AND CHECKMATE COMPUTER CODES s
The purpose of this letter is to thank you and the EPRI for providing us with the EPRI developed CHEC and CHECMATE computer codes and for. arranging participation of the NRC staff in training and assistance service provided by EPRI for the CHEC/CHECMATE users. Access to these codes and instruction in their use has assisted the NRC in developing a better understanding of the industry's approach to dealing with the important issue of erosion-corrosion in nuclear power plant piping and components. The NRC strongly supports joint industry initiatives such as the development of the CHEC and CHECMATE computer-codes. We appreciate the opportunity to gain a thorough understanding of these initiatives.
