previous submittals, References (a),,(b), and (c). Please retain the tabs from the previous version for use with this rev,sion as described in the attached instructions.

Please note that, although the page numbering has changed, only certain portions of i
the text have been revised. These are indicated with change bars in the right hand margins,' except for Appendices, A, B, and C, which have been completely revised.
A brief summary of the changes in this revision is as follows:
7 Non " Action Plan" items were deleted from Tables 1.1 and 1.4.
l The use of Action Plan 2.2.2, Communications Plan to promulgate management expectations (" Mutual Obligations") was stated more explicitly.

Action Plan'5.3.4, Design Basis Consolidation was restructured to better
. support the scheduling of-detailed activities and to add a milestone to determine the scope and schedule for 1991; activities by October.1,1990.
Actual change 6 to the schedule and resoLToes will be reflected in the next PIP-IP revision, currently planned for September 7,1990.-
References to " commitments" were changed to refer to " milestones."

Implementation and Effectiveness Verification activities were updated.
Eight (8) Action Plans were added to the second Effectiveness Verification
" vertical slice," five. (5) to the third, and two (2) to the fourth. Table 6.1 was t,
revised accordingly.
Appendices A,' B, and C were revised to reflect information as of the end of the second quarter.
A number of editorial changes and corrections were made.
l The entire PIP-IP was repaginated.
With this revision, the total number of Action Plans which have been verified as
' implemented is eleven (11).
