Hestir.p.ouse has performed an analysis to address the issue of -
- rapidly propagating fatique' tracks in steam generator tubes in resDonse to Bulletin 88-02, Reference (a), fcr Zion Station Unit ~l.
A Safety Evaluation Report (SER) was issued for this analysis, Reference (d).
Subsequent to the issuance of, the Zion Unit 1 analysis SER,' Hestinghouse informed the NRC of its-
-intent to reassess a portion-of the'ana'ysis in question.
Reference (e) requested, therefore, that Zion Station Unit i recommit
.to Item C.1 of Reference (a), an enhanced primary to secondary-leak rate
. monitoring. program, until completion of the Hestinghouse reassessment and
- staff review of that reassessment.
Zion-Station Unit I has implemented and continues to utilize an enhanced primary to secondary leak rate monitoring-program as described in Reference (b) and Reference (c).
This progran,has been ongoing at Zion Station since March of 1988, and fulfills the requirements of Item C.1 or Reference (e).
