.Doar fir. Carr As you may know, cracks have boon discoverod In'the domo of I
reactor' No. 2 at Commonweal th Edison's Ouad' Cl tlos - Nuclear Generating Station.
I would like to be kept updated on this.
matter and noti' fled of any mootings that may be. planned.by tho'NRC to consider this problem.
t I understand that at an April 19, 1990, technical meo. ting, Commonwealth Edison officials told the NRC that cracksLin-the stainless steel: coating of the roactor posed noulmmodlato danger to citizens or employees.
However, if the. cracks 'doepon 'in the:
next several months and extend into the carbon steol/domo', that' situation could change.
Obviously, citizens'of the aroa are concerned about any: problems Li that might throaten their safety, so I want to bocable to assure them that the situation-is being closely monitored.- I would, thereforo, appreciato your sharing any informatlon that you might have with me.
Thank you for your cooperation In this' matter.
I lookRCorward to working with you in the days ahead.
