Dear Mr. Asmussen:

This refers to your application dated May 29, 1990, requesting renewal of Certificate of Compliance No. 6703 for the Model RG-1 package.

Since an application was not submitted at least 30 days prior to the expiration of the Certificate of Compliance, the Certificate is not being considered under timely renewal.

Accordingly, use of this package under the General License J

provisiens-of 10 CFR 671.12 and 49 CFR 9173.471 was terminated on May 31, 1990, the expiration date of the Certificate.

If you desire reinstatement of this package, it will be necessary for you to provide a consolidated application. The consolidated application should include operating-procedures and a maintenance program for the package.

Operating procedures should be presented sequentially in the order of performance and such items as inspections prior to loading, cautionary notes on )ackage handling and instructions pertinent to receiving and unloading the paccage should be addressed.

The maintenance )rogram should describe the actions taken to ensure continued performance of tie packaging.

This program should include periodic testing, inspection, and replacement schedules,-as well as criteria for replacement and repair of components and subsystems on an as-needed basis.
