l Pursuant to the Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Technical Specifications, Section 3.6.1.6 -Action b, South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G) is i forwarding the attached document, " Reactor Building Containment Fourth Period Surveillance Tendon Forces," as a 30-Day Special Report for the tendon surveillance completed on April 30, 1990.

The attached report documents the fourth tendon surveillance and includes all Technical Specifications reporting requirements resulting from the measured'

~ forces that were below the current acceptable values. The conclusions of L the report indicate that no abnormal degradation of the containment tendons .

! has' occurred. Also, the prestress in the containment continues.to be above the design requirements and, due.to a decision to re-tension the vertical tendons, is predicted to remain as such for at least the next 25 years.
