Traditional decomissioning may not recognize.the value of reusing certain power plant components, power conditioning equipment and transmission facilities,.and instrumentation and control devices.
I believe repowering is a viable option for reclaiming such assets. How can the NRC assist the licensee in expediting the decomissioning plan approval in order.to pursue repowering options?

NRC will. expedite the review of the Rancho Seco Decomissioning Plan when the plan is received; however, SMUD has not submitted a Decomissioning Plan. The NRC staff has met with the. licensee and will continue to meet with the licensee to facilitate the decomissioning process.
