906/0l MR. BEVILL: The NRC's budget for FY 1991 requests additional funds under
" Nuclear Material and Low-level Waste Safety and Safeguards Regulation" to review an application, expected to be submitted in 1990, to construct and operate the first commercial urenium enrichment facility in the U.S.
What do you envision to be a realistic timetable for the NRC to act upon this application, assuming it is submitted in 19907 CHAIRMAN CARR:
Based on the assumptions that a high quality application will be submitted in late calendar year 1990 and the application and adjudicatory hearing thereon will be for a combined construction and operating license, the NRC would expect to issue a construction permit in late 1992 and to issue an operating license in late 199C.
