The nuclear industry and the Department of Energy indicated that they are working with the NRC to obtain a certification for various advanced reactor designs.. Does NRC agree with the objective of having a certified advanced light water reactor design in the 1990's?
CHAIRMAN CARR:
Yes, the present schedule for completing certification of the two advanced light water reactor designs presently' being reviewed is in the mid-1990's timeframe.
