NR. BEVILL:
How many applications for standard design have been received and how-many are anticipated?
-CHAIRMAN CARR:
The NRC has received three applications for the-review of stendard designs, one from General Electric, one from Combustion Engineering and one from Westinghouse. All three designs are of evolutionary light w6ter reactor type.
GE and CE'have applied for design certifications, and Westinghouse for pre-liminary design approval only.
l-At least seven additional applications are anticipated in the future.
Four of them would be for advanced passive LWRs and the others would be for advanced non-LWRs. The vendors for passive LWRs are Westinghouse, ASEA Brown Boveri,

The vendors for advanced non-LWRs are General Atomic, GE and Atomic Energy of Canada Limited.
l In additiun to the standara designs, the NRC is currently reviewing the Electric 1
Power Research Institute Requirements Document for evolutionary LWRs and.
l anticipates reviewing the Requirements Document for passive LWRs in the near future.
